Description

A few old-as-the-hills OS-tan designs. L to R (w/ OSC copypasta notes):

ENIAC-tan [link]
-An amnesiac
-sickly but with a hard work ethic
-had an entourage of female programmers

EDVAC-tan [link]
-ENIAC's daughter
-None of her mum's memory issues
-Had a conflict with ORDVAC-tan

Harvard Mark I-tan [link]
-Circa 1944, considered the "dawn of modern computers" and the beginning of the digital age (Eureka! I've finally found proof that Boston IS the cradle of computer civilization... I call it, Massopotamia >:3)
-First large scale automatic digital computer in the USA
-Used by the US Navy
-One of the most stable computers of its time
-Programmed, in part, by the famous programmer Grace Hopper

CSIRAC-tan [link]
-Somewhat utilitarian dressing
-Dark skin, light hair
-Good-natured and no-nonsense.
-She's the pioneer computer in Austrailia, and a musician as well.
-May have gotten along with DTSS-tan (CSIRAC used a programming language "similar to BASIC").

Manchester Mark I-tan [link]
-Small-Scale Experimental Machine-tan's daughter
-Sparked a firestorm of controversy when she compared her intellect to that of a human
-A rather wild, disheveled-looking woman, with long hair and messy clothing. Has a very pronounced Manchester accent.

Can't help but feel for ENIAC. Amnesia, illness, but still worked hard. Wish I could give her a hug. There's just something... about ENIAC... Can't shake it. I guess I just love the oldest of the old. She's off in whatever the OS electron Heaven equivalent is, along with the so-sweet Apple 1. Additionally, may Xenix rest in peace.

Ahh, I'll never know any of those, aside from Xenix if I was relatively lucky. ENIAC is out of the question, I wasn't either of the two cells that started it for me. Apple 1, well... I can dream of hitting a lottery, and THEN I could bear witness.

You have my thanks, for providing SOMETHING of an idea as to what ENIAC looks like. I just... wanted to know really badly, I guess. It's what is to be found, I'll take it.
