Apple Powerbook 190cs by BellaCielo Apple Powerbook 190cs by BellaCielo
1995 Apple Powerbook 190cs (colorscreen). To be honest, I half-hoped this one would have a greyscale screen. For added old-points, y'know?

I call her, "Chancy". It's so little and cute, I love it-- plus, it has the awesomeness of being a computer from the (in)glory days of the OS wars. Back when Apple was struggling for survival against innumerable odds.

This puppy cost $2,300 USD when it was first introduced... I payed $20. Oh what 15 years time can do...

Now I have to find a power cord for it... ; ;

Neat! A relic from the OS Wars! :)

It's also in good shape too! Does the battery still work properly too?

The same can't be said for my 1994 Powerbook 540c that's starting to fall apart now, and its batteries are dead so it always has to be plugged in to work. :(

Yeah, right? :D The historic aspect of this being from the mid 90s-- the time at which Apple was nearly destroyed-- really appealed to me.

It seems to be in good shape, but I'm not sure how the battery is. :\ That's too bad about your Powerbook... although it is rather impressive that it has held up for 16 years! Well, it could be worse... it could not even start up at all. :shrug:

Tiny keyboard...
Tiny screen...

But I bet it's still a brick (as far as density goes) right? :XD:

I had a PC book from 1991 that was full-on LCD while running DOS, otherwise I think it would run programs in screen-tone. So much weight packed with so little power. Awesome.

::did the ...sensible thing and took it to an appliance recycling drop-off not too long ago::

Oh my yes. It weighs a TON. :lol:

Oooh, that sounds like a wicked computer... too bad you don't still have it, I might have paid good money for a piece of junk gold like that! (I'm... sorta... trying to assemble a computer museum...) xD;;
