DTSS-tan

OS represented: Dartmouth Timesharing System aka DTSS

OS info: DTSS was an early timesharing system developed at Dartmouth College, designed for GE mainframe computers. It was largely designed by students, and aimed to be easy-to-operate. It was used at the college between 1963 and 1999, and today an emulator of DTSS exists.

DTSS was run on a two machine setup, with one machine (called the slave) used as a terminal, while the other machine (called the master) was used for the actual data processing.

Character info: Due to the unique two machine design of DTSS, DTSS-tan has been split up as two separate characters. "Mistress" DTSS-tan is pictured here; while "servant" DTSS-tan has yet to be drawn.

Physically, Mistress DTSS-tan has teal eyes, white + blonde hair, and dresses rather casually. She cannot speak; her servant must do all the communicating for her. However, DTSS-tan's attitude is that of a no-nonsense New Englander, with a serenely cheerful side.

While her profession was teaching, she also enjoys hiking and other outdoor pastimes, and often dresses appropriately for these activities.

Her current status is unknown, but is believed to be alive.
