GECOS-tan chibi

This is a redone chibi of GECOS-tan. This image was my frist chibi, originally created a little less than a year ago; but I've done a bit of work on it to bring it up-to-date.

GECOS-tan is the characterization of General Electric Comprehensive Operating Supervisor (also known as GCOS), a mainframe OS created in the early 1960s. Many versions of GECOS/GCOS were designed, for different computer architectures and types; but GECOS-tan is meant to represent the OS versions which ran on the several Honeywell mainframes.

GECOS-tan is a swordswoman, and the arch rival of Multics-sama. She typically wields a katana and dresses in a mix of Japanese and Victorian style attire (a nod to GECOS' popularity in Japan). While not the most powerful or skilled fighter, she is a master tactician; having nearly beat Multics-sama more than once on the basis of quick wits and manipulation alone.

She is also much more of a traditionalist than her peers. Multics-sama's extravagance was always a point of disdain for her.

GECOS-tan is also depicted as having a close relationship with Bell Labs' Unix-sama (Unix was originally designed and built on mainframes running GECOS, until self-supporting). GECOS-tan was Unix-sama's early caretaker, and later on became a teacher of sorts for her. GECOS-tan is suspected to have played a part in fueling Unix-sama's hatred of Multics-sama.
