Militaristic Multics-sama

Description

(For the uninitiated, Multics-sama is the anthropomorphic representation of the vintage mainframe OS, Multics. Info on the charatcer can be found here [link])

You know, I realized awhile back that I had never drawn Multics-sama-- an OS-tan who spent almost her entire life fighting-- in military clothing (or what she would think of as military clothing). So here she is, Multics-sama in her commander outfit.

One wing is broken, so this is post-fight-with-Unix-sama...

I really hate the grain of the watercolor paper in this image... another case when the real-life version looks so much better. I did a bit of Photoshop touchup to make the grain less noticeable on her skin.

Yay! Back! ^_____^

Agree with Katt-chama that her outfit is GORGEOUS, but about as practical in combat as a Red Coat would be in a modern battlefield. ^v^;
But as you said, she was a very powerful sorceress who relied almost entirely on magical offense and defense. The most powerful shield wouldn't have been even half as powerful as her weakest Ring Barrier. It's the same reason that Linux-sama converted her helmet to a virtual one.

Visible grain aside, I actually enjoyed the interesting lighting in this picture blending the red and blue source, complimenting her dress and her quite beautifully.

Hair is a little sparser than usual, but is highlighted where it counts. This is contrast with the wings which are wonderfully detailed. ^^

Her face has a cool scowl to it, with just a tinge of frustration -- after her defeat to Unix-sama, no doubt it becomes more and more obvious that her power and influence is slowly waning. As her wing is an eternal testament of the fact, now she has to work for respect whereas before it was simply assumed by her rank and position.

Aside from the metal clips and boots, the lower half of her dress is pure Victorian frill. The topmost, however, has some very imaginative elements on your part, from the chain-mail like corsette to the fur-lined pads on her shoulders.

There's no doubt about it that THIS is what Multics-sama would've worn if she intended to kick some butt. ^___^b
