I didn't know which character I should draw, so I drew perhaps the most enigmatic and central of them all...
The island may not be alive in the normal sense of the word, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its own unique personality, with wants and needs, thoughts and secrets. And a complex and contrarian personality it is...
Constantly on the move, the island can evade detection from all but the most determined of hunters; however, like some sort of physical embodiment of fate, it has a habit of inexorably drawing people to it. Those who have the privileged (or misfortune) of coming to the island seem to have every aspect of their lives and destinies effected by it.
The island is a place of life and death and birth and rebirth, of love lost and love found, a place of healing and sickness, new beginnings and dead ends. It is a place of unimaginable freedom and a prison from which there is no escape; it is a being of great mercy and kindness, and unimaginable wrath. Some of its properties can be explained though science, but others go beyond all rational explanation; it is the real and the physical and a bizarre fantasy-land where the impossible comes true.
It is a snowglobe. It is death. It is a place where miracles happen. It's just an island.

This Lost-a-day challenge has been tough at times, but a lot of fun! I'm glad I participated, and props go out to everyone else who has as well. ^^
