About two weeks ago, I had this dream I was traveling along the Maine coastline; it was a thoroughly normal dream, until I stopped at a beach to stretch my legs. It was then, among the unsuspecting bathers and tourists that I saw a sight that filled me with dread and horror...
A zombie horde? Godzilla? A HOBO ON FIRE?! No, a man-sized anthropomorphed seagull. In a yellow sweater and jeans. I FREAKED out, hid behind my companion, shouting at the top of my voice "DEAR GOD IT'S A SEAGULL MAN! A GULL MAN! WHY IS NOBODY CONCERNED?!"
That morning I realised I HAD to paint Gullman. It was the first painting I'd done since August, during my vacation on Cape Cod. Pleased with the spontaneous painting, I decided to do one speed-painting a day - every day, if I could - in order to reignite my spark for watercolouring and learn new techniques.
All because of a nightmare.
