Burroughs Buddies by BellaCielo Burroughs Buddies by BellaCielo
Circa-1960s Master Control Program (MCP)-tan and Backup Interceptor Computer (BUIC)-tan doing whatever it is Burroughs-tans do. I mostly just wanted to draw MCP-tan and baby-SAGE BUIC-tan because I haven't in ages. Partially because MCP-tan is hard as heck to conceptualize/draw because she's pretty much the oldest and wisest of living OS-tans ... nowadays I suppose she'd be a powerful sage with all sorts of esoteric knowledge and practicing her obscure brand of ALGOL-based mainframe sorcery, but she was once an ordinary OS-tan like any other. (Just a little better at keeping herself relevant. And alive.) And of course BUIC-tan, since I've never drawn a full-body picture of BUIC in fatigues before, and also because the SAGE family doesn't get as much love as it should.

MCP-tan is mine and BUIC-tan belongs to cptlfrghtr

Hmm. If you feel the current design doesn't do MCP's old-wise-ness enough justice, maybe throw in a pinch of the Oracle from the Matrix. That seems fairly compatible with the skin tone and body shape you've got going on so far.

...also, J_EDGAR_HOOVER might donate some shades or something.

...the result would be very Matrix-y.

...which would be ironic, given her name.

Ooh, I like where you're going with that! Never thought of it until you pointed it out, but she does share something of a likeness to the Oracle, and her vast knowledge of the OS-tan universe fits the bill too. (J_EDGAR_HOOVER can lend her cool shades, and a penchant for keeping tabs on her fellow mainframes.)

S'not a bad thing at all, it's been awhile since I've seen an OS-tan — Matrix reference. Like years. I think the last one involved VMS-tan and her love of 90s hacker trenchcoats and tight leather pants ... fufufu.

To that end, I could have sworn there was once some TRON-y injoke/reference in MCP-tan's design, but that was so long ago I can't remember what it was.

(Make this so, too.)

I'll be honest, I thought MCP-tan was a tan for the TRON character ^^;

Considering how relatively-obscure the real MCP is, I'm not totally surprised. ^^;
